Children's Ministries

We treasure our children and encourage their full participation in the life of the church. We celebrate their simple, child-like faith and do all we can to help them know Jesus better. We want to help children learn to trust Jesus through discovering him in the Biblical stories and by developing a meaningful prayer life.

Regular times for children to learn and share include Sunday school at 9am and a time during the service designed just for kids.

There are also special programs for kids like Vacation Bible School in the summer, a Wednesday evening kid's ministry from September through May, along with other special Seasonal Activities that meet at special times of the year. Check out some of these special ministries below.

At Bottom of the Page you will find our Philosophy of Children's Ministry and Mission, to which we are very committed.

You will also find some special links just for kids, as well as one for parents.

Special Ministries for Children

KNOW

Kids Night On Wednesday

Wednesdays (Sept - May) 6:30 to 8:00 PM

KNOW stands for Kids Night On Wednesday and is our Wednesday evening ministry for children grades K-5. Activities include games, Bible stories, prayer and refreshments. We are particularly pleased that our children learn that they can personally know Jesus, presented to us in the Bible. They discover for themselves the value of prayer. They learn that adults care about them, they make new friends, and they develop a concern for other children throughout the world. Your kids will want to be a part of this significant children's ministry.

Ridgeview Baptist Church Children’s Ministry Mission and Purpose

Our children's ministry exists to nurture the spiritual development of those in our care to know and experience the love of God, and grow to become like His Son, Jesus Christ.

To accomplish our purpose we seek…

  1. To fill children’s minds with the Word of God so they will grow to think the way God thinks and live the way God has commanded.
  2. To establish in children habits of godly living as a daily lifestyle.
  3. To create a Christian Community of children and adults who enjoy life together as a family and who are committed to Jesus Christ and to each other.
  4. To help children build proper relationships to the authorities in their lives.
  5. To help children trust Christ as Savior, to submit to Him and to live as Christians at home, at school, at play or wherever they are.
  6. To build Christian homes by encouraging families and training them in their tasks.
  7. To make each child’s experience at church safe, fun and profitable in the process of growing to become everything God has planned.

We believe children are equal members in the Church today. Jesus told adults that they needed to become like children to enter his Kingdom. We have much to learn from children even as we seek to teach them. Because the bible shows us that God highly values our little ones, we will seek to use every resource God has given us to enable children both inside and outside our church to discover what it means to know Jesus and walk with him in a growing faith relationship. We will strive to enable them to use their God-given gifts and talents to serve within the body of Christ and encourage their participation in church services and activities, and encourage and enable them to serve our community in Christ’s name. We will make our children's ministry a place where children feel loved, appreciated and safe to be themselves, and teach them how to express that same love, appreciation and respect for others.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
- Proverbs 22:6

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
- Mark 10:14-15

Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
- Ephesians 4:15-16
